Easy Cooking Class and Great Market tour Budapest

Discover the delights of Hungarian cuisine with this 4.5-hour cooking experience in Budapest. Indulge in the local atmosphere as you shop for goods inside the city’s Great Market Hall just on the other side of the Gellért Hill. Throughout the tour you will have an opportunity to sample local specialties such as the Pálinka (a fruit brandy) elderberry syrup and poppy seed bread pudding as you master the art of traditional Hungarian cooking.

You will meet your guide at 1PM by the Great Market Hall, the largest, historical market at the city centre, by the Liberty Bridge from where your 4.5 hour culinary experience will commence. The small-group tour will allow for a more personal experience with individual care from your knowledgeable, attentive guide throughout the adventure. As you enter the more than a century old building you will be greeted immediately by the true Hungarian mentality. Loud and friendly vendors will offer their goods to you as your guide introduces you to the local market etiquette and you select the best ingredients for the planned meal crafting.

From the market you will head straight for the boutique cooking school to prepare the delicacies you have purchased. Take a shot of Pálinka as a well-established local habit of preparing a hearty meal, then dive into the depths of Hungarian gastronomy. Learn to cook a 4 course meal comprised of a starter, a delicious soup, a main course and naturally an amazing dessert as your chef guide introduces you to stories and fables surrounding the legendary Hungarian cuisine. Learn about different food cultures and the local social life and traditions as you slowly master the craft of the Hungarian kitchen and let your guide inform you about the must try restaurants in the city for your own tastes. While creating magic, try the sweet home made elderberry syrup to pamper your taste buds

Finally enjoy the rewards of your work as you indulge with a 4-course lunch in the company of famous Hungarian wines and leave with a new skill you will be most proud of from your travels: the skill of the famous Hungarian kitchen.
